The Data Dictionary

ScopeMaster® will automatically detect likely users and objects from within your user stories. Using this data it can establish a data dictionary. You can supplement this taxonomy with your own domain-specific terms.

You can add custom terms or phrases to the data dictionary as either users or objects. You will need to re-analyse any user story(s) containing these terms for the functional analysis to recognise them.

ScopeMaster functional analysis will prioritise user-defined terminology over it's own detected values.

Tip: only add the singular version of a term, even if you have used both singular and plural in the user stories.

Auto detected users and objects make up the data dictionary of your application
Auto detected users and objects are the suggested data dictionary from your backlog text.

Confirm Terms

If you agree with the terms that ScopeMaster has detected, you can choose to confirm them, which allows you to work through verifying your data dictionary for the set of stories.

Customise the vocabulary

You can also add custom terms for objects or users to ensure the taxonomy matches your business. Thereafter ScopeMaster will use this enriched vocabulary when analysing user stories.

You can also add attributes and a definition for each "confirmed" term. You will need to re-analyse each affected user story after adding a custom term for the new taxonomy to be used.
